MUSIC FOR THE SPIRIT

With “Music for the Spirit”, the British conductor, choirmaster and composer Stephen Harrap has compiled a choir book on the themes of Pentecost and the Holy Spirit for the first time. This fills a gap on an important feast of the Catholic, Protestant and Anglican churches. Almost all the great composers of European sacred music are represented, from Palestrina, Byrd, Bach, Mozart, Brahms, Gounod and Bruckner to Reger, Parry, Stanford and Distler. In the reading session, the pieces can be explored under the direction of Stephen Harrap. He will also give advice on possible arrangements and performances as well as possible program combinations for Whitsun.
